Create a route
The category, the hours, one or two days, the links and the route options.
Routes are created in «New route», on the website (odinrally.com/app, with your account) or in the app. You choose a few things and Odín Rally works out the route with the most points that fits in your time.

The category
Road
Tarmac only: mountain passes on roads open to traffic.
Off-road
Mountain tracks open to traffic, for dual-sport bikes or 4×4s: on the special stage it aims for no more than 25 % on tarmac; the liaisons out and back, by road.
Mixed
Road and track on the special stage, roughly half and half, for those who don't want to choose; the liaisons, by road.
How much time you have
With a slider, from 2 to 14 hours, in half-hour steps. The hours are the time you have to ride: they include the links out and back and the fuel stops. On an open route, the way back does not count.
One or two days
On a two-day route you choose the hours for each day (24 at most between the two). Odín Rally looks for a town to sleep in at a good distance and suggests places to stay nearby: hotels, rural houses, hostels or campsites. Day 2 carries on over different passes and goes back to the start.
The start, the type of route and your bike
- The start: your location, a town you search for or a point you tap on the map.
- Circular, ending near the start, or open, where the last pass may be far away.
- Your bike's range (the km you ride on one tank): fuel stops go where they are needed, with the smallest detour.
- «New passes only», if you want to leave out the passes of your earlier routes.
The links
As in a rally, the route has a link out from the start to the first pass, the special stage with the passes and a link back. The links go by road. There are four options, measured in km of the track:
Normal
No km rule: whatever scores the most points in your hours.
Short (out and back)
The way out and the way back together, under 25 % of the route's km.
Short on the way out
The way out, under 12.5 % of the route's km.
Short on the way back
The way back, under 12.5 % of the route's km.
The rule is strict: if no route from that start can meet it, there is no route, and you are told why and what to try (normal links, more hours or another start). On two-day routes, each day meets its own; on an open route, the way back does not count. Off-road with «Short on the way out» or «Short on the way back», the whole route also has 35 % tarmac at most.
More off-road and Always forward
More off-road
Off-road only. Goes for the most km on tracks and the least road, even if there are fewer passes. The other option, «More passes», is the usual one.
Always forward
In every category. Leaves out dead-end passes (ridden up and down the same way), except near the start, and avoids riding the same road twice. There may be fewer passes.
Protected areas
Off-road and Mixed, you choose what to do with track passes inside protected areas: avoid them in the most protected (national parks, reserves, natural sites and monuments; the default), avoid them in all (also PEIN, natural parks and Natura 2000) or allow them. It is checked with the maps of the Spanish Ministry for the Ecological Transition, in Spain only and for track passes only. A track that is not avoided is not necessarily open to traffic: the rules of each area and the signs always come first.

The wait
The route is calculated on the server: a few minutes, and quite a lot longer for the longest ones. Meanwhile you see a bar with the estimated time and the bike with Odín's ravens, Huginn and Muninn, flying around it. The route takes shape as you wait: the passes the calculation has so far appear, and they may change until the end. If there are other routes ahead, you wait your turn in the queue. When it is ready, it is in «Your routes».
